We’re looking for Research Project Participants!
- Do you have questions about how to navigate program challenges as a student with a disability?
- Wondering when and how to disclose a disability to a professor, fieldwork placement preceptor, or others?
- Want to better understand your rights and responsibilities, and how to advocate for classroom or fieldwork accommodations?
Researchers from the University of British Columbia are investigating the effectiveness of the DREAM (Disability, Rights and Responsibilities, and Accommodations Module) program. DREAM is a blended learning module supporting the success of students with disabilities in health and human service disciplines. This is the fourth year DREAM has been running, and we are endeavoring to make the program even more effective.
To participate, you must:
- Be 19 or older and identify as a student with a visible and/or non-visible disability
- Be studying in a health or human science program (E.g. Law, Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Teaching, etc.)
Your Role:
- Complete the DREAM online training modules.
- Attend a workshop with other study participants (No need to disclose your disability.)
- Complete questionnaires and participate in a focus group to assess the effectiveness of the modules/workshops.
